Sunday 1 February 2026 Stars of the Week- Week ending Friday 30th January Apologies for this late posting. We attempted to upload the photo and post a report on Friday, just after our celebration assembly. However, there were some issues with the website. These now appear to be resolved, so here are our stars for last week;

Sunday 1 February 2026 Football Team are County Champions! Our school football team were crowned as Herts Small Schools County Champions on Saturday after winning the Herts County tournament at Parmiters. They won all three group matches and went through to their final, where the match ended in a draw and went all the way to penalties. Mr Oswin described Baxter's goal in the final as "an absolute screamer of a free kick that went straight into the top corner.

Friday 23 January 2026 Year 6 writing: figurative language Using 'Wisp' as a stimulus, Year 6 have been improving their use of figurative language by focussing on alliteration, similes, metaphors, personification and the rule of three. We used complex sentences and varied the length of our sentences for emphasis.

Wednesday 14 January 2026 Florence Nightingale Visits Year 2! Yesterday, History Off The Page came to visit the Year 2s and we spent the whole day immersed in the life of Florence Nightingale. Our day started when the children arrived dressed as little Victorian boys and girls. Looking the part, we headed into the hall where Florence Nightingale was waiting for us!

Tuesday 6 January 2026 Welcome to the Spring Term in Year One

Saturday 13 December 2025 Straw and Order Our lower juniors performed superbly and had great fun putting together this year's humorous production of 'Straw and Order.' A wonderfully creative interpretation of the Nativity, starting, and ultimately resolving, the ongoing dispute between the cows and the donkeys over who should reside in the Bethlehem stable. The traditional nativity characters were joined by a modern duo of sheep-herds, the 'Re-Play Hi-Viz Police, and even an alien appearance to re-live a popular seventies classic! The innkeepers argued about the quality and popularity of their provision and poor Stanley reflected on what might have been! The show was superbly narrated by Johanna and Zoe, and the brilliant judge, played by Defne, eventually reached the conclusion that she would like to stay and join in the celebrations for the birth of the Baby Jesus; joined of course by the traditional shepherds, sheep, donkeys, stars, angels and three incredible wise, and reputedly handsome, wise men. Wednesday 10 December 2025 Year 1 Visit Tara's Retreat! Today, KS1 headed over to Tara's Retreat Care Home in Sandridge to sing their Wriggly Nativity songs and spread some Christmas cheer! Both Year 1 and Year 2 sang beautifully and showed great respect to the residents watching - we were very proud.
