Football Team are County Champions!
Our school football team were crowned as Herts Small Schools County Champions on Saturday after winning the Herts County tournament at Parmiters. They won all three group matches and went through to their final, where the match ended in a draw and went all the way to penalties. Mr Oswin described Baxter's goal in the final as "an absolute screamer of a free kick that went straight into the top corner.
The team then won 5-3 on penalties, with Charlie being the hero in the Skyswood goal. This tournament is part of the wider National Pokemon Primary Schools Football Cup, which is the largest primary schools football tournament in Britain. The team will now represent Hertfordshire in the South-East Counties Regional Finals, where there will probably be eight or nine counties fighting it out for a place in the National Finals. Last season the finals were held at Stoke City Football Club.
Well done to everybody in the team, this is the first time in the school's history that we have won the Herts County final in football, we are all extremely proud of you!
