Year Six: School Journey – Day Three

This morning, we braved the weather and set off for Snowdon shortly after breakfast. Unfortunately, the forecast prevented us from progressing past the second lake but our spirits remained high. Some of us were like mountain goats – Ky, Anika and Charlie to name a few!

There was great excitement as we pulled up at Adrenaline Adventures Zip World, we couldn’t wait to get started! After a safety briefing, Skyswood were given free rein of all that Adrenaline Adventures had to offer – beat the wall, vertical slides and jumping platforms along with lots of other obstacles. Delilah was one of the first to dare the drop slide and was, rightly, very proud of herself. Cherie too enjoyed this and was very quick to get up to the top and have a go; she was far more agile than the teachers at scrambling up the obstacles! Rory managed to beat the wall several times in close succession! A popular activity with the adrenaline seekers was the drop where we had to jump off a high platform and land on a huge blow up landing pillow. Zidan was one of the first up there to have a go and Elliott was very quick to progress up to the highest drop.

As the bad weather continued into the evening, we finished the day with an optional walk down to the pier. With lots opting for pjs and chill time, there were eight of us willing to set off in drizzle! Claudia was keen to enjoy the fresh air before bed and Annabel E was particularly thrilled to win a toy Stitch on the grabber machine, a result of great skill, persistence and a lot of luck!

We have been really impressed with all the children; it’s a pleasure to take away such an enthusiastic bunch. Amy’s friendly, polite and positive approach to everything hasn’t gone unnoticed by all of the adults. It’s been lovely to see how engaged and keen Josh is to get stuck into everything too.
