For World Book Day, our learning was based around Floella Benjamin’s ‘Coming to England’ book. This powerful story, based around the Windrush generation, taught us about the hardships and prejudice faced by many.
In Year Four, we made double-page spreads to bring Floella’s inspirational story to life. Throughout the day, the writing tasks involved allowed us to reflect on this true story of courage and facing adversity.
