What a Knight!

Congratulations to all of our upper juniors on their fabulous performances of What a Knight, on Thursday and Friday (along with their dress rehearsal to the school on the Wednesday afternoon). The children really brought the performances to life with their excellent acting, comic timing and wonderful singing. The heroes of the story, Watt and Alice, helped King Arthur to overcome the scheming Black Knight, accompanied by his two comical henchmen, Ernie and Bernie. The show was full of colourful characters, from the precocious princesses to aspirational squires, Merlin, brave knights and dark nights, Queen          Guinevere, royal fashion experts, a wandering minstrel, a depressed jester and the royal guards, Scratch and Sniff. Watt’s mum, Kitty, played a major role in helping Watt to reach hero status, whilst Maid Molly did her best to keep the princess in order.  Many thanks must go to Best Arts for their loan of costumes, to the fantastic team at the Sandpit Theatre, to Mrs Morrish and Mrs McVeigh for their excellent efforts in organising props and costumes, to Mr Jones for choreographing the superb ‘What a Knight’ finale, and to all the staff who helped back stage, along with our brilliant back-stage crew!
