Rainforests Day brings extra colour to Year 2!

Our Year 2 children enjoyed a wonderful Rainforests Day with local textile artist, Jill Izzard. The project, which links to the current unit of study in art, offers lots of opportunities to experiment with different techniques and materials. The children have already produced some superb paper and textile weaves, press prints and ‘perspex prints,’ and were able to build on these experiences throughout the day.

Activities ranging from twig-wrapping, to cording, to tie-dye were all part of the special day. The children were amazing and we would like to say a big thank you to Jill (who is absolutely inspirational), as well as thanking Mrs Haworth and Mrs Driskell for helping us out at short notice!
