Our cool trip to Ashridge!

Despite the incredibly hot weather, Reception had a wonderful day at Ashridge! We were fortunate enough to have air conditioning on the coach and in the classroom facilities. It even got quite chilly at one point!

The day began with a walk in the woods and some minibeast hunting, before a drenching for some of us in the sprinkler! This was followed by a craft activity to decorate a leaf bug each which the children loved, before a story and a spot of lunch in the shade. The afternoon involved a choice of activities including bubble blowing, excavating leaves from ice and identifying using a spotter’s guide, fishing in ice cold water and collaborative drawing on a roll of paper. We rounded off the day with an ice pop before heading home on the coach to name a few.

The children were brilliant and were fully engaged throughout. We were incredibly proud of all them and hope they enjoyed the trip as much as we did. We couldn’t have asked for more on the hottest day ever on record!

Here are a few photos of the day…
