Our school football team finished the season in style, reaching the final of the St Albans City cup and playing superbly against a strong Wheatfields team, despite losing out by two goals to nil. The team also reached the finals of the annual 6-a-side competition, finishing third in a strong group that included the eventual winners, county champions from Fleetville. The team won their league with a 100% record and can be proud of a fantastic season.
A special mention must also go to George and Michael, who have been regular members of the St Albans District Football squad this season. The St Albans team reached the final of the prestigious Southern Counties Cup on Bank Holiday Monday, and looked the stronger side for much of the game, although they lost by three goals to two against Wycombe. George actually scored with a magnificent glancing error, only for the goal to be ruled out for being marginally offside. Well done to our two district boys, you have done the school proud!
