Two of our children in Year 5, Eddie and Dennis, have been pro-actively raising funds to support the World Wildlife Fund and I know that their concerns for endangered species are shared by many of our children and families. This Saturday we look forward to having great fun at our Summer Fair, with the theme being Magical and Mythical creatures, but on Friday we would like to turn our attention to real creatures that are genuinely endangered. Did you know that there are less than a hundred Amur leopards in existence today, or that there are more tigers in captivity in the USA than there are living in the wild! The World Wild Life Fund supports projects to work with communities in order to protect endangered species such as the Amur leopard, tigers, giant pandas, snow leopards and mountain gorillas.
Eddie and Dennis are organising a cake sale to raise funds for the World Wildlife Fund this Friday. It will be held in the Year 3 classroom (Mrs Lewis’ class) from 3.15 p.m. Any children or parents that would like to make a cake, donate a cake, or simply turn up and buy a piece of cake, will be most appreciated.
