To support our understanding of Road Safety, Mrs Elliot from Transport for Herts visited Key Stage 2 to offer an interactive session.  She shared information about safe stopping distances for a car travelling at different speeds and we were surprised that even travelling at 20mph it would take the length of our hall for the driver to stop. We were also reminded about other distractions including the dangers of crossing the road whilst using a mobile phone and why it is important to not just follow others when crossing the road but to stop, look, listen and check for themselves.  What a brilliant reminder to keep us all safe when out and about!
