Year Six: School Journey – Day Two

This morning, we got up bright and early for breakfast at 7:30 before we boarded the coach and set off for gorge walking at Plas y Brenin. After a drive through the scenic lanes, we had arrived. There certainly was a buzz of anticipation whilst we got kitted out! Once we had arrived at the gorge, some of us walked down to the water to scramble up the gorge whilst others started at the top to scramble down. In group one, Mrs Morrish and Miss Gray were impressed with Mia’s enthusiasm. Whilst in group two, Naomi and Malaika set a cracking pace! Mr Jones and Mrs Loukes we with the third group who were led by Olivia. They were particularly impressed with Oliver’s resilience and determination. Once we were all done, we had a quick dip in the lake before returning to the minibuses to head back to Plas y Brenin.

Back at the hub, the children were able to change into dry clothes and take part in activities including rock climbing and team problem solving. After a jam-packed day, it was time to head back to the hotel. A few people, teachers included, took the opportunity to get some much needed sleep on the coach!

After dinner, we returned to the beach for some cricket, football and rock skimming. The teachers were treated to a dance performance by Grace, Leila, Elodie and Ava which invited an applause from passers by too!

What a fantastic day we’ve had!
