Year 5 Master Chef cooking class – Seasonal vegetable soup

This year in D&T, year 5 had planned a delicious cooking lesson to prepare a seasonal vegetable soup.

The children were working in groups and had to research their own vegetable soup recipes. After careful planning and shopping, we finally got to the day of cooking. We walked to Sandringham school to use their cooking facilities.

The children did chopping, measuring, boiling, peeling, mixing, cooking and used the food processor to make their soup nice and creamy.

Once all the soups were cooked and tasted, year 5 had to write an evaluation on their soups to see if anything needed to be adding or taking away from the recipe.

We all had an amazing morning without losing any fingers!
