Year 2
Thank you everyone for all your amazing effort with your costumes and bringing your favourite books from home.
We have had a busy day sharing our books, writing book recommendations, making book marks, making a class book of our costumes and book characters and word searches.
We also had a whole school assembly showing off all our costumes. Well done to Harry L, as the Grinch, and Amelie, as Frida Kahlo, who won a book each for their creative costumes. The assembly also included the draw for the 50 Night Read competition. Well done to Pippa and Harry R for winning from Year 2! It was also announced that Year 2 had more entries than any other class. I was a very proud teacher indeed. Keep up the fantastic reading Year 2!
Although it was very hard to choose, the highlight of the day was our workshop with James Riding a local author. This followed an assembly James delivered about comics and his early work and influences. The children loved being taught how to draw cartoons especially designing their own Orbs. James was very impressed with the children’s creativity! Please feel free to check out his website jamesriding.co.uk.
What a great day!
