Summer Fair Success

Our Annual Summer Fair was a fantastic success on Saturday 17th June and, for the first time in seven years, there wasn’t a drop of rain. A large crowd enjoyed the sunshine and once again there was a wonderful range of stalls, many based on this year’s theme of Cartoon World. After the initial fancy dress parade, the Shotokan Karate Club put on an impressive display. The Impeyan travelling zoo workshops (based in Year 6) were also a great success. After the excitement of the stalls, (from sumo suits to bouncy castles, slippery pole, indoor craft activities and the class ‘have a go’ stalls) our attention then turned to our summer fair band, The Kid Gloves.

We’ve had some fantastic feedback about the band, and about the summer fair in general. Many thanks to all of the volunteer helpers, especially those running bar and barbecue in the sweltering heat without a minute’s rest! A big thank you also to all of those parents who helped to set up on Friday after school, or on Saturday morning and early afternoon, and indeed those parents who kindly gave up a few hours on Sunday to help with all the clearing up. Congratulations must go to Leo, Samuel and Kia on winning the cake competition and well done to everybody who entered (the standard was amazing!)

Finally, a big thank you to Claire Searle, Jo Walker and all of our fantastic FOSS team, without you such a wonderful event would not have been possible!
