Our girls football team are on top of the league following two wins in two days against tough opposition in Margaret Wix and Aboyne Lodge. The Margaret Wix match was highly entertaining, with Skyswood taking the league through Honey and then adding a second when Hannah scored early in the second half. Aboyne Lodge proved to be an even greater challenge and every player had to be at the best. Hannah scored the opener, latching on to a fantastic through ball by Tilly, and Mae was then twice denied by excellent saves. Aboyne Lodge equalised in the second half, but Skyswood responded with a thunderous strike from Tilly. It set up a nail-biting end, with an incredible goal mouth scramble following a free-kick thankfully coming to an end when Chloe dived upon and smothered the ball. The team have gone from strength to strength and look forward to their next match, away against Margaret Wix. Many thanks to Mr Barnett for taking some wonderful action shots!
