Reds 4 VEDS Fun despite the Wind and Rain!

Driving winds and downpour couldn’t dampen our spirits as our children enjoyed a fantastic fun-filled Reds for VEDS Day on Friday 21st May. The children took part in a Reds 4 VEDS obstacle course and enjoyed a cake sale our Really Rad Raffle within their set class bubbles.

Thanks to the generosity of our Skyswood community, we managed to raise a magnificent sum of around £620 on the day. Red certainly ruled for the day as our children wore red in celebration of National Reds 4 VEDS Day and our classrooms were adorned with red balloons and a variety of creative red decorations.

The donations of cakes and prizes for our Really Red Raffle were amazing, and the children thoroughly enjoyed mastering the maze and challenging themselves on the ‘balloon pop’ as they conquered the Reds 4 VEDS obstacle course.

A big thank you must also go to the Manku family for helping us to put such a special programme of events together. And we are particularly proud of Hugo. The day’s events have really helped to raise our school awareness of VEDS and we are thrilled to be able to support the Reds 4 VEDS appeal with the generous support of all our families. Year 3 and Year 6 pupils must also get a special mention as they were on the obstacle course at the height of the afternoon downpours! (And yet all had smiles on their faces and a determination to not allow the weather to spoil their fun!)

Well done to EVERYBODY! Here are a few pictures of the day’s activities.
