Ponies, pranks and prizes all played a part in our successful Summer Fair, based on the theme of Cartoon Characters and Superheroes. It was a fantastic day all round, with wonderful performances from the school choir, Street Dance Club, Marshalswick Judo Club and ultimately, The Papersnakes. The cake competition produced some amazing entries, including Sameer’s amazing minion cake, two wonderful cakes based on the theme of ‘Frozen’, along with Tom and Jerry, a Tracey Beaker tiger, Wonderwoman and so much more. The day was made even more special by the surprise visit of a Stormtrooper, a Biker Scout and a Jedi (courtesy of Garrison UK, who kindly volunteered their services for the day.) Our children’s poetry book, ‘Monsters and Superheroes,’ was officially launched, and the creative range of have-a-go-stalls (designed and organised by the children) complemented the traditional favourites such as tombolas, Beat the Goalie and bouncy castles. A great day was enjoyed by all. Many thanks to FOSS, and all of our parent helpers for their fantastic efforts, not just on the day, but also in setting the fair up and clearing up on the Sunday. A particularly big thank you to Jo Walker (who took the reins of chief co-ordinator on the day) and also to Mr Newton (who worked tirelessly from nine in the morning to half past ten at night!)
