Quick Sticks Tournament

Our first ever participation in the local Quick Sticks hockey tournament was a resounding success, with two Skyswood teams making a fantastic impression over the course of the day. Our ‘A’ team finished top of their group, winning seven of their eight matches and drawing one. The ‘B’ team showed great resilience after a steady start, where they were unfortunate to lose their opening match by a single goal. The team went on to win the last five of their eight group matches and were unlucky not to qualify for the knock-out stages, missing out by the narrowest of margins. Despite the ‘A’ team losing out in the Quarter-Finals to Park Street, both teams can come away from the tournament with a great sense of pride. It was a fantastic competition (with 37 teams taking part) and we will most certainly now look to enter this on an annual basis. Well done to Theabelle, Emily, Oliver, Ben, Cameron, JJ, Kaela, William, Toby, Hannah, Joe and Joshua, you were all brilliant. Thanks also to Mr Collenette for accompanying the teams and supervising alongside Mr Bridle.
