We are delighted to invite all parents to our Parent Presentation Evening on Tuesday 17th September (6.00 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.) This evening will be a chance for your children to introduce you to their new teachers, alongside a presentation on the proposed changes to the new curriculum and how parents can best support their children at home.
At 6.00 p.m. Mr Bridle will give two informative presentations: ‘Preparing for and Managing Change with the new National Curriculum’ and ‘Supporting Your Children at Home.’ There will be opportunities to see resources used to support the new spelling scheme in Key Stage 2, along with Read Write Inc in Key Stage 1, information about proposed changes to Maths Homework throughout the school, and an introduction to some exciting on-line resources, and a summary of key changes and how the school propose to manage these.
Whilst listening to the presentation we will set up a couple of video/cartoons in two of our classrooms to entertain your children whilst the talk is going on. At 6.45 p.m. parents will be reunited with their children, and have the opportunity to pop into their child’s class, see some of the work that they have produced at the beginning of term, and informally meet your child’s teacher.
We will also provide cheese & wine, and light refreshments for the evening as a thank you to all parents who are able to attend. One of the key suggestions through our Parent’s Annual Questionnaire was that several parents felt it would be helpful to be given a wider range of presentations on our curriculum. We are confident that this will be an informative and enjoyable evening.
