Carol Concerts light up Skyswood Christmas!

On Sunday, our Junior Choir were invited to perform alongside the St Albans Choral Society in their 70th Anniversary Christmas performance at the Marlborough Road Methodist Church.

Choir numbers were down as the event clashed with the panto, but nine of our children performed on the night and they were absolutely outstanding, a real credit to the school.

The children performed Good Enough for Him, Carol Gaily Carol, Silent Night, and While Shepherds Rocked. They also returned to the stage just before the interval to sing Away in a Manger. The concert itself was fantastic, with George Vass conducting the Choral Society. The contribution of our Skyswood choir was fantastic, and much       appreciated by all who attended. Well done to Ellie, Henry, Christopher, Amelie-Boo, Louis, Jessica, Luke, Cameron and Hattie. You were all fantastic! A   special thank you must also go to Miss Yaxley, for training and directing our wonderful school choir.

Following one spectacular carol concert came another! Our upper juniors started the final week of term off in style with a heart warming carol concert in front of a packed audience. A number of children performed Christmas carols on the piano, with guitars, violins and flute, adding wonderful variety to the overall concert. Carols included Christmas has started, Christmas Calypso, Broken-hearted Donkey, We Three Kings and Guiding Light. The concert was ‘rounded’ off with a lovely ‘Happy Christmas’ round and a splendid finale of Jingle Bells. Congratulations to all of our upper junior children, the singing was delightful and has really helped to put us into an appropriately festive mood!
