Our children have enjoyed an exciting start to the autumn term and our infants are particularly impressed by the new all-weather apparatus beside their playground. Thanks to FOSS we have been able to install a triangular rope tunnel, a log cabin climber and a wobble bridge over the summer holidays. FOSS kindly donated £8,000 towards the apparatus, which will have a knock on effect of making the infant play area more spacious as well as making it a more exciting place to be!
Mr Newton has also been working hard on our Adventure Play Trail down by the Hazelmere Road end of the school grounds. The area has a scramble net, a spider-web net, tunnel, camouflage net and climbing wall to extend upon the existing apparatus trail. It will also have two large satellite ‘whisper-dishes’ that will also be great fun for the children!
On top of this, we also have plans to involve our Year 3 class in the creation of our own Iron Age house at the bottom of the school field. This will link to their History topic this term on Early Settlers, and promises to be a really exciting project for the children!
