Mixed Fortunes for the Football Team

Following their 8-0 victory against Abbey, the school football team defeated Prae Wood by seven goals to nil in the league, with Daniel scoring a hat trick and both Adam and Louis scoring twice. This was followed by a tough match against St Bernadette. Skyswood defeated St Bernadette earlier this year 2-1 in an evenly contested match. The return game was probably the most exciting match of the season, with both teams playing superbly and hardly a mis-placed pass throughout the match. Both goalkeepers were called into action to make some first class saves. As with our earlier match, there was little to choose between the teams. However, it was St Bernadette who came out on top this time around, winning by the only goal of the game following a powerful run from midfield with only a few minutes remaining. A win apiece is probably a fair reflection over the matches, and it leaves the league wide open. This has been a really exciting start to the season. The results so far are as follows:

KILLIGREW 1   SKYSWOOD 2 (6-a-side St Albans Final Play-off)

KILLIGREW 1   SKYSWOOD 1 (friendly)

ST BERNADETTE 1   SKYSWOOD 2  (league)

SKYSWOOD 8  ABBEY 0  (Wix County Cup)

PRAE WOOD 0  SKYSWOOD 7 (league)

SKYSWOOD 0  ST BERNADETTE 1 (league)
