Local Artist, Jill Izzard, inspires our Year 2 pupils

Local textile artist, Jill Izzard, came in to Skyswood to work with our Year 2 children on their current ‘Rainforests’ Art project. The children enjoyed a fantastic day, experimenting with several different textile techniques and materials, including weaving, tie dye, twig wrapping, perspex printing, carding and manipulating paper and fabrics. Jill started the day by sharing a selection of her own art work and then, along with our Art Co-ordinator( Miss Lockyer), class teacher (Mrs Woollard) student teacher (Mr Boxer), several fantastic parents and even Mr Bridle, the children tried out various techniques and transformed their classroom into a multicoloured workshop! The children were absorbed in the days activities and we’d particularly like to thank Mrs Izzard and all our parent volunteers for helping this to become a memorable and extremely creative day!
