Kites and happy half term!

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The children have had a wonderful first half term in Year 1. They have been very busy and I am extremely impressed with all of the work they have accomplished. In our Design and Technology topic the children have been designing and making their own kites. The end results looked very cool and they all had a go at flying them on the playground. We found out that the best shape for flying was the pointy kite and the traditional kite. I hope they can fly their kites over October half term.

In addition, the whole of Skyswood (especially year 1) are very sad to see Dilan go, but we wish him all the best for his new adventure in Australia. We hope he enjoyed the party this afternoon.

Have a fantastic (and maybe even a spooky) half term!

Best wishes,

Miss Upton and Mrs Fox
