Half Term Letter Year 1

9th November 2018

Dear Parents/ Carers,
This term the children have been working really hard and they have been learning about a lot of exciting topics. We were focussing on the season of Autumn last half term and they made some fantastic clay leaves. They also made some clay Poppies for the Remembrance Day assembly which was held today (9th November).
This week we have been focussing on Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder Plot, within this we have discussed the Protestant and Catholic religion and Bonfire Night.
We have made beautiful firework pictures using the toilet rolls (thank you very much for those), which went home yesterday!
In addition, the children have written beautiful acrostic poems about fireworks in English today.

I hope you all had a lovely half term, I can’t believe we’ve been back for a week already!
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.

Yours sincerely,
Miss Upton and Mrs Fox
