We have had a an ‘eggcellent’ day in Reception today filled with lots of Easter and end of term activities! We began with an egg hunt in the environmental area. It was a lovely, sunny Spring morning and the children loved the challenge of finding five laminated eggs each to swap for a chocolate egg to take home at the end of the day. Those that found their eggs quickly were very helpful in assisting their friends to find enough eggs too. It was lovely to see such co-operation between them all!
At snack time, we sampled hot cross buns to support our discussions about the customs and traditions associated with Easter this week. They were a great success as I am sure you can see from the lots of smiling faces and thumbs up in the pictures below!
As if that wasn’t enough, we finished this afternoon with some party games to celebrate the January, February and March birthdays that took place over lockdown. Miss Powell did a grand job in organising some games and there was lots of dancing too. (We kept the birthday party a bit more low profile than before Christmas for fear of excitement overload!).

Lots of fun was had by all and it was a great end to a very strange and different term.
