Christmas carol concert hits the right note!

The upper junior Christmas Carol concert was a joy to behold this year, with our children singing beautifully and enriching the occasion with some fantastic instrumental performances, wonderful solos and even a festive display of morris dancing! The show started with a number of lovely instrumentals courtesy of Natasha, Laura, Eva, Holly and Adam. The children then sang ‘O Little Town of Bethlehem’ and ‘Child in a Manger Born’ before further instrumental contributions. Anna played The Holly and the Ivy on the piano, Amber played Jingle Bells on the flute and Lucy played ‘O Little Town of Bethlehem’ on the saxophone. Heather then sang a beautiful solo verse of The Little Drummer Boy. This song was absolutely brought to life by the inclusion of several djemba drums on the front two rows of the choir! Following this we were treated to a remarkable display of festive morris dancing, before launching into Hark the Herald Angels Sing and finishing with a truly captivating rendition of We Three Kings. Alice started us off with another impressive solo, whilst Sam gave a timely and enthusiastic accompaniment on cymbal and drum. Congratulations to all of the children for providing us with a truly memorable carol concert, and a particular thank you to Mr Bolton. What a wonderful way to complete his first term as our new Key Stage 2 music teacher!
