Our Year 4 class sang beautifully at the Abbey Carol Service on Tuesday 4th December. The service involved around twenty local primary schools, and a total of around 500 children. After starting out with ‘O Little Town of Bethlehem,’ the children sang a wide range of carols, interspersed with readings that re-told the Christmas story through the theme of Christmas cards. Sam and Tabitha delivered our school readings beautifully, whilst Tilly presented our card, which feature a dove to symbolise peace. The class particularly enjoyed ‘Light a Candle in the Window,’ and then rounded the concert off with two traditional and familiar carols; In the Bleak Mid-Winter and O Come all ye Faithful. The class were fantastic ambassadors for our school and we would like to thank Mrs Salway for teaching them the songs, along with Miss McAlister and Mrs Traviss, who also accompanied the class to the Abbey.
