Royal Albert Hall Concert

Our junior school choir enjoyed the fabulous experience of taking part in the Hertfordshire Music Service Gala Concert at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday 11th March. The wonderful composition ‘If I had Wings,’ based on the legend of Daedalus and Icarus, was   especially commissioned for the performance.  The choir started off with a beautiful rendition of ‘Flying’ , and then went on to sing about the Labyrinth, the Minotaur,  and the downfall of Icarus,  before rounding the performance off with The Final Countdown. The performance was narrated by the author, Michael Rosen.  Congratulations to all the children who performed, you were amazing!  A special thanks must go to Mrs Salway and Mrs Eady, who took responsibility for organising the choir and rehearsing for this special occasion. Thanks also for our wonderful team of teaching assistants, and Mrs Russell, for accompanying the choir and supervising the children on the day.
